Don't recommend: www.musicsubmit.com

I found this site www.musicsubmit.com because I was looking for a way to get my music on the radio. I found the whole process pretty easy and I love the service because I can use the site, for free mind you, to submit my music to someone of my choice. If the company submits your music you have to pay a fee but it's fairly reasonable and it's a lot of work that I don't have to do. Love that! I am currently using their service to get my music on the radio and I already have feedback. As you can imagine I'm getting excited about it all. I really hope they do a good job but you know if they don't you will be the first to know.

  2. So I've been using this site for a week now and I'm starting to get some feedback which is nice. It's not what I had hoped for but I'll reserve judgment for now. I still think that the concept of the site is a very good idea; so it could have real possibility in the future. I'm keeping my eye on this one with optimism.

  3. It's another week since I've been using this company and so far so good. The only thing I don't like is that they don't tell you that the submitions are sent out in increments over a certain period of time. I just feel like they should talk to their clients more and keep them informed. I'm not so sure about the radio submittions that I've been submitted to because some of them I know off the bat wont play my music; so it's a waste of time to submit to them.

  4. Hi there I wanted to add to you post. I receive music submissions from musicsubmit for my online radio station and it seems to be okay. They haven't sent anything in awhile but early on the sent at least 25 to 30 songs to us to review per week. www.online24radio.com

  5. I sent my husband's CD to MS and within a week we received 6 REAL radio stations who had accepted his project. Even Sirius radio was one so we are dazzled by that offer. Keep checking and don't quit.

  6. Hi Lady PJ-

This is Michael Corcoran, the Marketing Director at MusicSUBMIT.com. I just noticed your post recently, as it turned up in a Google search for MusicSUBMIT, so I thought I'd respond, even though it's been 24months since your original post.

First, I'm wondering if your opinion of MusicSUBMIT has changed since March 2012? I checked your MusicSUBMIT campaign from back then, and found your promo ran for 4 more months, til July 2012. You actually had some decent results, but you didn't get these results til April-June 2012. So I'm thinking you ended up happy with MusicSUBMIT.

Also, just to clear up a few things: MusicSUBMIT is not affiliated in any way with the company Artist PR. We surely did not deduct any funds from your Paypal account. I wouldn't want to be confused with a company that deducts money from an artist's Paypal without telling them.

Please feel free to contact me directly at 917.512.2958 to discuss anything regarding your MusicSUBMIT campaign. I know it's been 2 years, but I'm available if you'd like to chat.

    Thanks,

    Michael Corcoran

I've been contacted by Musicsubmit.com and I've decided after talking to Mr. Michael (Mike) Corcoran to try this service again because basically I’m a pretty fair person. I know that things can be worked out in time and I’m hoping that the bugs, which existed with this service, are no longer present.
Musicsubmit.com was informed that I cannot at this time recommend their service and that after further review of their current service my recommendation may change.
I had problems with the submission process and their customer service, plus it took such a long time to get any sort of benefit from the service itself. It’s been a few years since I've used this service and I'm hoping that the problems I had with the application, or the service, are now fixed or modified.
I will let you guys know what the outcome is, so do check back for my report.

    As always,
    Lady PJ.

  9. Musicsubmit.com is ok out of 75 submission I've only got 6 good replies makes me not want to waste my hard earn cash on this site. One thing that was cool was getting into a magazine. The site works if you are patient and have money to spend on promotion. One other thing is they don't delete your account if your not using it and you can always send your music press kit to anyone's email. Here is a link to my music free for all to download www.hitquarters.com/establishedent

  10. I tried music submit for my band and I was pleasantly surprised. Within a few weeks, I had 3 radio/reviews all within the region I live in. I was really happy with the service and would use it again. I think it is 100% legitimate. They can't control who selects you, but your material is definitely delivered. We are now on the radio in Massachusetts, CT and Maine because of Music Submit.

Exclusive Rights to a beat/track

What does "exclusive rights" mean?

  • This gives the music artist sole ownership of the beat, and unlimited use of it as well. The producer cannot sell this beat/track to anybody else and must take it down from any selling sites. Make sure that all copyrights to the beat are properly transfered to you and all usage restrictions are lifted. This allows you to use the beat in any way you see fit. You should be given a signed "transfer of ownership" agreement from the producer or beatmaker.
